Biomes are the four major areas in which the player embarks on Crusades. They are unlocked by opening their respective doors after enough Followers have been recruited. There are four biomes that the player can enter:

  1. Darkwood, a summer forest with Camellia plants and Berries.
  2. Anura, an autumnal forest with Menticide Mushrooms and Pumpkins.
  3. Anchordeep, an underwater realm with Crystal Shards and Cauliflowers.
  4. Silk Cradle, a twilight cave network with Spider Silk and Beetroots.


Each biome's unique enemies and items match its overall theme and each one is ruled over by a Bishop, who is encountered a number of times throughout and acts as the final boss for the area.

In the postgame, the biome doors must be re-unlocked by sacrificing a Follower of a certain level. Each biome also receives a remix of its background music.
