Entering the lands of the Bishop Leshy. Those who do not follow the ways of the Old Faith will be destroyed.

Darkwood is the first biome unlocked by the player in Cult of the Lamb.

Description[]

Darkwood is the first biome the Lamb visits. The ruler of these lands is the youngest of the bishops - Leshy. The location is a dense forest filled with many dangers. Almost the entire biome is solid trees through which sunlight barely penetrates. In addition, it is dotted with a large amount of plants and grass.

Darkwood II forms after defeating The One Who Waits and meeting ??? for the first time. Certain rooms will have large flowers in the scenery. Mini-bosses also change and gain additional attacks.

Trivia[]

  • Presumably, just as the bishops are allusions to the wise monkeys and (most likely) the four horsemen of apocalypse, Darkwood, along with the other three biomes, could be an allegory to one of the four kingdoms In the kingdom classification of biology (Plantae), Being ruled even by a creature that seems, in appearance, to belong to this kingdom (Leshy, looking like a bush in the shape of a worm). However, this is not confirmed.
