Cult of the Lamb Wiki

The Grand Shelter is a building in Cult of the Lamb.

Description[]

It can only be built on a Shelter, turning it into a Grand Shelter which never collapses. It also generates Devotion while a Follower sleeps. Each Grand Shelter can store max 10 Devotion points. Devotion can't be collected while someone is sleeping at the building. Devotion is gained quite slowly compared to other sources, but at a time where most other sources aren't available to begin with.

Generally provides the same benefits as the Sleeping Bag or Shelter, though it might be slightly more efficient in restoring sick or tired followers.

Strategy[]

  • Quite expensive, but worth it, since the two planks translate to six units of lumber or about two repairs. The gold bars as well are a measly 20 coins, which means it's really a fool-proof upgrade, made annoying by the necessity of using a refinery.
  • Can be built on a collapsed Shelter, avoiding having to repair it.
  • The extra devotion is a nice side benefit, but generally not terribly impactful at the time this building is unlockable. Followers with Moon Necklaces, on Missionary tasks, converted to demons or in Prison or the entire cult during the Glory Through Toil ritual effect also won't generate devotion at all when they occupy a Grand Shelter.
  • Since they can't collapse, a full set of Grand Shelters doesn't require having any spares around unlike the other versions. Though it might still be worth having a few extras around to avoid shortages when indoctrinating new followers.

Trivia[]

  • Its description states "Give your Follower the luxury they deserve." While the cost to build it requires 3 Fertilizer. This is likely a statement by the game that your Followers don't deserve true luxury as they are beneath you.
