The Missionary is a building in Cult of the Lamb.
Description[]
Missionary's allow players to send their followers away on a quest to return with resources.
Interacting with the Missionary lets you choose a Follower to send on a quest to gather resources. For each quest there are:
- Time: Follower will be absent from the Cult in 1-3 days. The durations are different among quests and Followers.
- Resources: The resources can be:
- Success chance: Shows the chance of success for the quest. Increasing the Follower's Loyalty level and/or brainwashing them to increase their chance of success. If the quest is successful, Follower will bring back the resources and become exhausted. If fails, the Follower will come back empty-handed and die.
Upgrading it to Missionary II allows for more resources to be gathered and up to two missionaries to be sent out.
Strategy[]
To get the most out of the Missionary, you should use 3 followers, all with high loyalty and a Missionary Necklace. However, letting The One Who Waits wear a Missionary Necklace is incredibly useful, since he will not reach old age unlike other Followers. (You could also use glitches to give your Followers the Immortality trait if you’re using an earlier version of the game.)
Choosing a follower with a high level is ideal, and can help boost the odds of that follower's return. So is equipping a follower with a Missionary Necklace. And,if urgent, choosing a follower that can retrieve the specified Resource in 1 day. So, the best strategy is: A high level follower with a Missionary Necklace (If possible) That can complete the mission in 1 day.
